The Bachelor Australia flops

So The Bachelor Australia started and it's clearly not as good as the American version. But it makes you cringe and LOL.

Andrew G, sorry, 'Osher' (he will always be Andrew G in our heads) always explains how the show works and what's going to go down in these irritating voice-overs as if The Bachelor is a game show aired before the nightly news. We all know how The Bachelor works, it's not a new concept on TV...

Let's watch the ratings drop and see if it gets the flick to Channel Eleven. In the meantime, enjoy the comedy on display with the remaining 20-odd ladies awkward and forced romance with The Bachelor.

Finally a shoe change

Anna Gare finally changed her shoes after wearing the same red wedges for the past month! Last night she wore blue wedges instead on Channel Nine's The Great Australian Bake Off.

It's funny how viewers can pick up on the smallest of fleeting details isn't it?!

Melissa Doyle's ridiculous farewell

Talk about an OTT farewell for Channel Seven Melissa Doyle.

But why did they even call it a so-called farewell? It's not like she is leaving the entire station.

Her Sunrise farewell took precedence over the day's news. Such. A. Long. Segment. Repeated. Over. And. Over. LOL. Nothing wrong with having the last half hour of the show for the look backs, is there?

I don't think she is more important than world happenings especially since she's remaining with the Seven Network.

Just when you thought that was enough coverage, Seven's start up show The Daily Edition felt the need to repeat a farewell package during their show.

2 Broke Girls disappear after 2 episodes

You can't just start playing the new series of 2 Broke Girls and then stop after two weeks without any explanation.

Channel 9 is treating viewers with disrespect. It was bad enough that Nine chose to play a repeat of The Big Bang Theory at 9.30pm over a new 2 Broke Girls episode which aired at 10pm.

It's understandable if reruns of The Big Bang Theory rate higher but it's just silly not to give new shows precedence.

Why not put new episodes of 2 Broke Girls on GO! Channel in a permanent timeslot?

War on television

Formal Wars is Channel 7's answer to Fifi Box's show Four Weddings - tacky but fun to watch.

Watching eager teenage girls have their formal dress, hair, makeup and accessories chosen by their mothers was the twist that the girls didn't see coming. Although the show could be condensed from one hour to just half.

Mockumentary baking our screens

The filming and camera angles on Channel 9's The Great Australian Bake Off are creating a mockumentary vibe to the show. Just saying.

When reruns are enough

Can GO! please stop repeating the same series of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette every time the already repeated series ends.

The usual offenders Brad Womack, his rejected winner Emily Maynard, Ben Flajnik and Ashley the dentist are on a never ending cycle .

C'mon GO! they're up to the 17th season already.

Reserved for Friends with Pete Evans had the makings of a great new cooking show except for one thing...

Blatant advertising. It was so disappointing to see the obviously paid for marketing for Jacobs Creek wine throughout the entire show.

And see, they even get a mention here, but let’s pretend I just said a ‘wine company’ instead.

And why was it on 7Two so late (9.30pm) on a Friday night? Random.


With Pete Evans' constant references to the brand's wines in the show, Reserved for Friends may as well be a wine documentary instead.

Internet and phone dies #firstworldproblem

The internet AND phone decided to die and with it finally up and running after hours on the phone to providers Internode and Telstra, some bright spark cut the wrong cable at the exchange 1.7km away from Media Muncher headquarters.

Turns out I'm not alone, 17,000 Adelaidians are having the frustrating #firstworldproblem of not having the internet and phone because of 'bad weather in May.' What? I don't remember that ever happening. My case must be a coincidence.

But if you've never lost your connections, it's such a strange feeling being cut off from the web it's like you have to be extra creative thinking how you'll pass the time - nevermind most of us have grown up playing without the net.

After waiting in queue several times with Internode do you know what? Now my phone can't dial out, oh dear... here we go again.

Online newspaper fees

So now News Limited websites aren't allowing you to read some articles in full.

The 'Oops! Please register or log in to continue' message is frustrating when you want to read the full article and even though they say 'It's quick, easy and free' to register, it's just too annoying having to sign up to yet another website, create yet another account with more passwords... when you can just find the story on another news site. Then there's the whole being monitored issue which is a problem for some.

Even paying $1 for 28 days access seems off putting when content has always been free, not to mention the $4.50 that follows. Rupert Murdoch is so rich that he should pay us to read his online newspapers. Haha.

The Daily Edition debut's

Channel Seven's afternoon show The Daily Edition debuted a few weeks ago and it's great company if you're home alone.

It's a cute show with a predicable format i.e. how to get the perfect red lip. But the show's content is recycled from Sunrise and The Morning Show which is obvious if you've watched Channel Seven's programs from 6am to noon (including Seven Morning News).

The same crosses to reporters and guests is tiresome.

Most people are out working or at school so who is the target demographic - pensioners?! Just wonder how long The Daily Edition will last before it gets the chop.

Overbaked advertising

Channel Nine has really overdone it.

All year there's been the same package advertising The Great Australian Bake Off with the debut date a complete mystery.

Why is Nine having trouble committing to a date? Here's hoping viewers won't have as much trouble committing to regular viewing.
